In the Gallery, the first section entitled EDITIONS highlights art in its multiple forms: in collaboration with the publishers Derrière la salle de bain, Littérature mineure and Adieu ne plaise, Espace A VENDRE presents artists’ books, printed and illustrated texts, entirely handmade and in limited quantities. EDITIONS is also the first collaboration with the Sète-based publisher and art printer Dugrip Picard-Jacomet. Specialized in wood engraving, the workshop produces these numbered and signed prints in an artisanal way, from the wooden matrices of Savoy pear tree to the handmade paper, including typographic inks. Multiples of artists of the Figuration libre (Robert Combas, Hervé Di Rosa) or particularly attached to the figure (Stéphane Pencréac’h, Eudes Menichetti or Manuel Ocampo) are thus exposed.
Other invited artists present multiple objects and works: Ben, not without malice, signs “rien”; Karine Rougier elaborates her mythological universe on enhanced lithographs. Joël Hubaut’s signs, Thierry Lagalla‘s minute prints and Louis Jammes‘ photography are also displayed on the gallery’s walls. Art is finally worn in clothing, since artistic t-shirts by Emmanuel Régent and Laurent Prexl are exposed.
